Sad, sad, sad! Was just about to subscribe when I had been looking for a March/April issue and saw that Jan/Feb issue (which I have – bought at newsstand) and read that the MAY/June issue had been canceled!
I have read Dirty Linen, sporadically, over the years (because the issues sold out faster than I could get to them, or I was in an area where they were not available) but lately, have had a much greater interest in world and folk music than I have had previously.
I would imagine that, these days, to produce a publication of this quality, requires more resources than might be accessible for ‘niche’ publishing and that is sad.
I hope that better times are ahead for all of you and that I might be able to subscribe to your excellent publication, even if it might be in a ‘less slick’ format. I would even consider an online subscription, even though I prefer to have the magazine in my hand, if it means being able to enjoy the publication!!!
Once, again, thanks for all that you have provided for your readers over the years. I’ll be looking over your past issues to fill in the gaps that I have missed in the past. At least, that will be something…for now!
So sad…..this is my main stay publication that I bought for years at the newsstand. I’ve referred so many to your pub – artists and fans alike.
I really hope you re-group and get back on your legs.
I am a print editor and if I could, I would donate my time to help, but cannot even keep up with my own deadlines as it is, nor get out to all the venues to see artists I NEED to be seeing.
It’s a hard time for all of us with today’s economy. Work is lucky if you have it no matter what your field. Then you are working 4X the amount one used to to just keep afloat.
Wishing you all the very best.
I agree with everything Roy said here! I was online looking to subscribe, have been a long time fan, etc.. When you post your update, let us know how we can help.
Shame on you for not refunding subscriptions , informing your readers of the magazine’s demise and deleting your website.
I’m sorry to hear of problems like this. Sue and I took pride in handling subscriber issues promptly for 20-plus years, until Visionation took over that function in 2007. I believe you have two options: call the Visionation toll-free customer service number: 866-702-7778, and if you aren’t satisfied you could contact your credit card company (or PayPal) to contest the transaction. We are no longer employed by Visionation/Dirty Linen so we have no input into the current customer service policy.
For ‘Shame on you’ – Dirty Linen only had 2 full time paid employees – Sue and Paul Hartman….DL was bought out in 2007 by Visionary Publications – they are the ones you need to be in touch with regarding the pulling of the Web sites and anything about your subscription refunding. Their contact info is as follows which I pulled off another still up there older blog post:
For Dirty Linen? That’s currently up to Visionation. If you have questions about subscriptions or advertising, you can contact them at 866-702-7778, or via email office@dirtylinen.com or accounts@dirtylinen.com.
