The Hills are Alive with Music at Avalonfest ’09

PAW PAW, West Virginia (June 3, 2009) — The slate of performers for the Avalonfest ’09 has been released. Avalonfest is a music, arts & craft festival held each year at the beautiful Avalon Resort, nestled on a mountainside in the Panhandle of West Virginia. The 12th annual Avalonfest runs from Friday August 7 through August 9. The organizers are anticipating an even larger crowd than last year’s extremely successful Avalonfest ’08. The Avalon Mountain Stage on the front lawn is once again being prepared to present the audience with another lively and entertaining musical event.

The current schedule from Friday through Sunday treats the audience to an eclectic mix of musical styles with performances by David Roth, Coyote Run, Buskin and Batteau, The Guy Mendilow Band, Mambo Combo, Stephanie Corby, Anansegromma, Dede Wyland, Randy Barrett and Mama Tried, David Glaser, 3 Penny Acre, Jennie Avila, Robbie Limon Band and Kaydi Johnson. Several of the performers take the stage multiple times over the 3-day festival.

Because Avalon Resort is a full service resort with lodging and a large campground, many folks start their Avalonfest weekend early.  For those who do come early there will be a special performance by the trio Hot Soup on Thursday evening. The trio’s musical diversity has made them a long-time fan-favorite at Avalon. Hot Soup was the headliner at the 10th annual Avalonfest.
