BOSTON, MASS. – Folk luminary Cheryl Wheeler will mark a milestone in her career as she launches her own Dias Records with the release of Pointing at the Sun, available now at brick-and-mortar retailers through Golden Rod Distribution and coming to iTunes later this summer. The disc was produced by Ben Wisch (Marc Cohn, Jonatha Brooke) and Kenny White.

Pointing at the Sun, her twelfth release, illuminates Cheryl’s deft finger picking and poetic lyrics that are at times sincere (“Hold On,” “Grey and Green”), light hearted (the folk-hop “White Cat”) and whimsical (“My Cat’s Birthday).

A “rare artist” with a gift for “…strong poetry, complex melodies, clever wit” (- SingOut!), Cheryl has maintained her artistic integrity over the past two decades since her debut Newport Songs in 1983 by not conforming to trends or vanity. (more…)
